How to Fix a Milwaukee Heated Jacket Not Working?

The most common problem is the “Milwaukee heated jacket not working.”

If you are also facing such problems with your Milwaukee heating jacket, then our article will help you find the solution to your problem.

  1. Faulty Outlet

A faulty outlet can cause the heating jacket not to function properly. Check the voltage of the outlet to which the charger of the jacket is connected. You can use a multimeter for this purpose.

If the outlet is faulty and does not provide enough voltage, then it is recommended to use an outlet that provides the required voltage and gets the job done.

Also, check if the power is turned on. If not, then turn on the switch button.

  1. Faulty Charger

faulty

It is possible that the Milwaukee heating jacket is not working because of a faulty or damaged charger.

To check the continuity of the charger, plug in the charger to the power supply. Check if there exists a green light on the charger. After checking the green light, plug the charger into the battery.

Make sure that the battery is being charged by the charger properly. If not, then the charger needs to be replaced, as this is the only long-term solution to your problem.

  1. Adjust Battery

Next, you might just be struggling with the battery’s orientation in the compartment. Paying a bit of mind to the installation of the battery will do you good.

adjust

All that you’re trying to do here is make sure that the terminals are properly engaged and that there is no dust or debris in the system.

Giving a bit of attention to the unit will do you good in the long run. This is especially true if you’ve just reinstalled the new battery in the system.

So, be sure to check on the power connections one more time when you can’t seem to get a response from the heated jacket.

Ideally, you won’t have to deal with any errors at this stage, and fixing the unit will come easily to you.

So, be sure to keep that in mind when you can’t seem to get a response from the Milwaukee heated jacket.

  1. Check For Water Damage

water damage

This jacket should be kept away from water at all times. Issues with the battery or the heating element getting exposed to water can create problems down the road.

So, if you’ve washed the unit or the jacket was out in the open in the rain, then that is likely why you can’t seem to get a response.

You’ll also run into the same errors in case of excessive moisture around the jacket for hours on end. So, try to find a better spot for the storage of this jacket.

Otherwise, it is next to impossible for owners to secure a decent response from their machines.

However, if the jacket is already wet, a good option would be to let it dry out in the open for a few hours.

performance

That will help you get back the performance from the unit, and it will start working as soon as you clean the battery connections.

Be sure to not use the jacket until it is completely dry and there is minimal moisture in the unit.

That way, you’ll have a decent shot at fixing the unit without having to worry about more errors down the road.

  1. Check The Power Cable

Next, the issue might just be with the power cable. You will have to deal with these issues by getting a replacement, and there are no surefire methods that can help you fix a broken cable.

So, be sure to reach out to the dealer and get a replacement.

Even if you’re not sitting on a valid warranty, getting a replacement won’t have a bad impact on your budget.

This replacement should come cheap to you, and the issue will be fixed as soon as you install the replacement.

  1. Inspect LED Indicator

The LED indicator on the unit will keep you informed on the issues with the unit. If the battery is cold, hot, or damaged, you will see a red or red and green flashing indicator.

So, if your jacket does not present a stable indicator, you will know for sure that the battery is damaged.

There are no quick methods to help you fix a damaged battery. You will have to call for a replacement, and the primary reason behind the battery getting damaged is always linked to water damage.

So, be sure to keep track of the battery’s exposure to water damage.

However, there might be other issues at play if the LED indicator is not flashing. Asking an expert for help will help you figure out this issue pretty easily.

expert

So, take your jacket to a local repair center, and an expert will take a look at it. From there, it is not that hard to isolate and fix the issue with the system.

All that you’re trying to do here is make sure that power is going into the jacket and that there are no issues with the heating element.

Other than that, there are no complex components involved in the unit’s functionality.

  1. Old Battery

Another reason for your Milwaukee heating jacket not working can be an old battery. If the battery is old, then it will not function properly.

Old Battery

If the battery is fully charged but does run out quickly, then it is a sign that your heating jacket’s battery needs to be replaced.

Unfortunately, you can’t really get the battery repaired, which is why replacement might be your only option.

For prevention, it is highly recommended not to use the jacket before the battery is fully charged. Also, remove the charger once the battery is fully charged for the maintenance of the battery.

  1. Contact Customer Service

customer service

If none of the above-mentioned solutions work for you, then it is recommended to contact the Milwaukee customer support service. They will further guide you to get rid of the problem.

If the jacket has a warranty, then if required, it is recommended to return the heating jacket, charger, and battery pack to the service facility for repair or exchange them with a new one.

So, instead of blaming the whole system, just figure out the issues with the power supply. There can be a ton of causes here.

replace

Most of the time, replacing the battery will do the job. However, if you just can’t seem to figure out the issue, then the problem can become more severe.

In that case, you will have to call for a replacement. There are no other methods that can be implemented in case of a faulty system.

You’ll surely be able to figure out the cause and handle the issue accordingly without having to rely on anyone.

  1. I have five pieces of Milwaukee heated clothing, three hoodies, one vest and a jacket. the oldest is just over a year old. none of them are working this winter. I have used the M12 batteries in other M12 tools with no issues. The batteries charge normally and work properly. I have checked the wiring connectors in each of piece of heated clothing and see no damaged or frayed wiring. The battery terminals are very clean with no evidence of any corrosion whatsoever. I have swapped the M12 batteries and battery adaptures between the jacket, vest and hoodies but with no luck. is it possible all five M12 Battery adaptures died at the same time? Help please!
