Kobalt Table Saw Problems

Kobalt table saws are integrated with high-tech features to deliver perfect outcomes and a cutting experience.

However, there are various problems associated with the Kobalt table that users don’t know how to fix, but we are sharing the common problems and their solutions.

  1. Cutting Issues

When you have invested a thousand dollars worth of table saw, and it is not cutting the wood stock properly, it is basically useless and a waste of money.

However, there are various issues associated with cutting, and we are sharing all of them along with the solutions;

problem solving

Rough & Splintery Cuts – when the wood starts coming out rough and splintery, it is important for you to consider the sharpness of the blade as well as the blade speed and feed rate.

In addition, you can opt for the throat inserts for cutting down the wood perfectly, but your first action should be checking the blades and replacing them if they are full

Slow & Binding Blades – when the blade has issues going into the wood and making it, you must sharpen the blade.

This is because people don’t make it a point to change the blade, but if you use the table saw regularly, the blades must be replaced regularly as well. In addition to changing the blades, you must lower the blade speed and feed rate to see better performance

Stock Kickbacks – if you are using the table saw, and the wood stocks keep flying around the room, it can be pretty dangerous. However, the issue is caused by improper fence alignment.

To resolve this issue, follow the manual’s instructions and optimize your blade-to-fence alignment to make sure there is no flying around of the wooden stocks

  1. Mechanical Issues

The mechanical issues of the table saw are different from the cutting issues. It’s important to remember that every company has different settings, which is why it is important to consider how your table saw was set up.

Anyhow, the common mechanical issues associated with the Kobalt table saw include the following;

Not Turning On – when the table saw stops working, the first step should be checking the power connections, and it’s better to start with the power plug in the wall as well as the power switch and circuit breaker. You need to ensure that all these power connections are on point.

If these components and connections are working fine, you must check for damaged wires and malfunctioned outlets, as they can break down with time. Also, it is best to leave the power-related tasks to the professionals because there might be static

Stops During Cutting – in the majority of cases, the table saw stops working in the middle of a cutting cycle because the material is not supported or is too hard.

For this purpose, you must take out wood stock from the table saw and reduce the blade speed to gain more torque.

Also, you must check the manual to see which wood types are supported by the table saw

  1. The Table Saw Smells

smell

When it concerns the smells, the majority of smells are burning ones, and in such cases, you must switch off the power connection immediately and step back.

While it’s common to smell the burning odors, they are not so mediocre and are generally caused by the dirt buildup in the machine.

It is needless to say that many people don’t have a proper maintenance schedule, which results in poor performance and bad smells. So, hire a professional to clean the table saw and make sure to clean the unit regularly.

  1. Excessive Noise & Vibrations

The situation with excessive noise and vibrations from the unit can also lead to a ton of issues down the road. You will not be able to get any precision out of the system when there is excessive vibration, and the only reasonable thing that you can do is check up on the hardware.

noise pollution

Nine times out of ten, the blade is to blame here. You have to make sure that the blade is not damaged and that the unit is placed on level ground.

Issues with the legs or complications with the blades will put the system out of balance, and you will not get any reasonable response from the unit.

It all comes down to how you’re planning on addressing the situation, and starting out with a blade replacement is not that bad of an idea. Putting a bit of focus on the alignment and making sure that the blade is not damaged will have you sorted out.

However, the situation with the type of material and its placement in the system will also lead to the same situation.

So, you will have to check up on that as well to make sure that the wood is not warped and that the positioning is perfect on the work surface.

That would have you sorted out in most conditions, and you would not have to deal with more complications.

Just make sure that the hardware side of things is managed perfectly and that there are no issues with the system itself.  Otherwise, you will have to claim the warranty on these systems.

  1. Wood Burns

The situation with the wood burns can also create a ton of issues with the system, and you will not get a suitable response out of the unit.

This situation with a material burn can almost always be linked to poor technique. If you’re trying to speed through the project, it will leave a ton of marks.

issue

You have to avoid putting too much pressure on the blade and allow the blade to do the job. Feeding the material slowly and making sure that the blade is sharp will fix these errors. You can also check on the wood to make sure that it is not in poor shape.

Using warped wood or a dull blade will only create more errors for you. So, you will have to avoid these errors at all costs, and fixing the system will come easily to you. Hopefully, the Kobalt unit will start working perfectly after the blade replacement.

You need to further make sure that there is no excessive gunk on the pivot points and the unit is clean. From there, you can also lubricate the system further, and it will help you avoid more errors with the wood burns.

  1. Height Adjustment Wheel Issues

The height adjustment wheel can be a bit harder to manage. This situation with the adjustment wheel will present itself when you’ve not serviced the unit in a while.

So, if you’re in the same situation and didn’t give much focus on servicing the unit, now might be a good time to do so.

adjust

You have to check up on the wheel and remove excessive sawdust from the gears. Some people rely on compressed air to address these errors, and you can follow through with the same method. Hopefully, you will be able to get a decent response out of the unit.

It all comes down to how you keep track of the maintenance requirements. Keeping the unit clean can make all the difference in most situations, and you will not have to deal with more errors down the road.

Wrapping Up

When you’re aiming for a robust and efficient unit, the Kobalt table saw will always dominate the market. You will not find a single option that can even come close to competing with the Kobalt Table saw when you’re talking about value for money.

conclusion

However, that doesn’t mean that it is all sunshine and rainbows. You will struggle with a ton of errors when it comes to ignored maintenance, and you should learn the proper maintenance techniques.

From there, you can go about ensuring the ideal performance from this system. It all comes down to how you’re planning on addressing the situation, and keeping track of these pointers will have you sorted out in no time.

Hopefully, you will not have to deal with any challenges down the road, and fixing the unit will come easily if you are mindful of the maintenance.

Lastly, you have to also check your technique to make sure that you’re feeding the material correctly. It is not always the unit that is at fault, and you have to make sure that you’re not rushing the process.

Otherwise, you will remain stuck in these errors and won’t be able to get a suitable response.
