Viking Battery Charger is Not Working Fix:

  1. Clean terminals

First things first, you need to keep your terminals on the charger clean at all times. That should help you out ensure that you can get the right edge of perfection on it without dealing with much.

If you are facing any such issues with the terminals having some carbon accumulated on them, or they might not be cleaned properly, your charger terminals might have some dust accumulated on them.

Cleaning

So, cleaning them up properly should help you to eliminate all such problems that you were having in the first place.

You also need to clean the battery terminals to ensure that you can get the job done properly and have the right charging experience from your batteries and chargers at the same time.

  1. Check Cables

The next thing is to check on the cables and make sure that they are connected properly to the charger and are not damaged either. The cables need to be in perfect health as well to make sure that you can get the right experience out of your Viking charger.

The power cord gets the power to your charger, which is then transferred over to your batteries, and if your charger is not getting the power in the right way, it will not be able to charge the batteries as well.

damaged cable

The optimal way is to replace the cable if you find it to be damaged, bent, or broken at any point, and that should optimally help you to solve any such problems that you have been facing earlier with the Viking Charger you have.

  1. Reset the Charger

This is a smart charger that has a microprocessor on it, and at times it might be just a small bug or error that could be causing you to face this problem.

That is why all you will need to do is reset the charger properly, and that will help you to clear out any problems that you might have been dealing with on your charger.

It is pretty simple, though, and you just need to disconnect the battery from your charger. After that, you will also need to make sure that you are pulling out the power cord and letting the Viking Battery charger rest for a while.

That should do the trick for you, and after a few minutes, the charger will be reset, and you can easily use it for any needs you might have.

  1. Jump The Battery

Jumping the battery is the next thing that you need to do here. There is no deficiency of reports where owners drain out the battery completely. You should never go below the 20 percent mark, as that will also damage the integrity of your pack.

So, to avoid this situation, you need to make sure that the battery is always above this minimum limit. Not draining out the battery completely will also improve the battery life. So, keep that in mind and then adjust the battery usage.

On the other hand, if you’ve already made a mistake, then the only fix is to jump the battery. To jump the battery, you will need a new unit. From there, just grab a pair of wires and then connect the dead battery with a fresh one.

Leave this system for around 20 minutes, and then check the response from your devices one more time. I

deally, the issue with the dead battery will be fixed, and you can then connect the dead battery to the charger. Hopefully, the charger will not pick up the battery pack, and it will start charging.

  1. Fix The Adjustment Of The Battery

Sometimes, the fix is as simple as readjusting the battery in the charger. This is especially true if you’re using an older model. So, if you can’t seem to get any response from the unit, make sure to adjust the position of the battery.

All you need to focus on here is that the terminals of the battery align perfectly with the terminals of the unit. From there, it is not that hard to secure a consistent response from the battery pack.

  1. No Harm In Trying A New Battery

If you’re still stuck in the same problem after going through all of the fixes mentioned above, then you need a new battery pack.

It is just better to give up on your current unit and start with a fresh piece. So, try extending your budget to add the new battery to the charger.

batteries

Usually, the lifespan of most batteries will only stretch out to three years. After that, you’ll notice a significant drop in the battery timing as well as the condition of the pack.

This three-year battery life can also drop by a huge margin when the temperature and humidity levels are not optimal.

So, if your battery is placed in less-than-ideal conditions, all you can do is grab fresh replacements for your tools. Usually, you’ll find a battery replacement to be affordable, and you can stick to a minimal budget for this purchase.

From there, you won’t have to worry about a thing, and this battery will last you for years. Just make sure to keep the storage conditions optimal, and that would be it.

  1. Check For Compatibility Issues

Compatibility issues are also not that rare when you’re dealing with these units. If you’re not sure about the compatibility and the battery pack just won’t fit, then you need to grab a compatible battery or a charger.

While it is pretty rare for a battery to be incompatible, the possibility is still there.

compatibility

To get a better perspective on this situation, you need to reach out to the dealer. He will help guide you through the issue, and you won’t have to waste any more time guessing the situation.

All you need is a compatible device that will fit perfectly on the charger. Other than that, you won’t have to worry about a thing, and the charger will work perfectly after that.

  1. Claim Warranty

Lastly, you can always reach out to professional support for help on this issue. These experts are more than willing to guide you through the process. Usually, the warranty is avoided for 12 months. However, that can vary depending on the model you’ve brought.

So, if the purchase was recent, you have to reach out to these professionals and have them provide you with a new one.

Ideally, you won’t have to show proof of purchase, but that depends on the dealer. For this reason, it is best to keep proof of your person.

Once everything is verified, it can take four to five business days to get a replacement. So, keep that in mind if you can’t seem to get the charger working again.

Wrapping Up

These are some of the solutions that you can rely on when the Viking battery charger is not working. Most of the time, it is the battery and not the charger that is to blame. So, it is best to isolate the errors with the battery before you move on to the charger.

However, if you’re absolutely sure that the battery is in good shape, you need to check for power issues from the source. There is no point in sticking with a defective outlet, and you need to switch to another one.

From there, test out the response from the router one more time. It all comes down to the condition of the device, and it is not that difficult to isolate and fix these errors.

So, go through these solutions and reach out to the dealer. He will guide you on how to maneuver through the charger issues.
